Jcrew.com vs. J.Crew Store Positioning

As a brand J.Crew positions itself to incorporate style, fabrics and flattering imagery, and the need for appropriate office clothes. J. Crew strives to provide their customers with exclusive designs that include cools colors, bold prints, and casual classics. They try to maintain the quality and integrity their loyal customers expect. J.Crew prides itself on consistency and that is why the positioning of J.Crew’s website is the same as their store positioning. J.Crew is involved in many line extensions. J.Crew Collection includes exclusive and limited edition pieces and Crewcuts is targeted to children ages 2 to 14. J.Crew also owns Madewell an interpretation of an American denim label found in 1937 and features a wide range of garments and accessories to match with denim. J.Crew and Madewell strive to connect even more with their customers by having a large online presence through both e-commerce and social media. J.Crew sells merchandise through their catalog and outlet stores as well. All of J.Crew’s line extensions except for Madewell and J.Crew Factory can be found on their website, because Madewell and J.Crew Factory both have their own website. J.Crew does not allow Business to business transactions to happen on their website, and prohibits commercial orders as a courtesy to other customers so merchandise does not sell out as fast. However, business to consumer transactions are welcome on the J.Crew website.
